HOW WE FIT IT ALL IN
We are a martial arts community in 21st-century Houston, Cypress, Bridgeland, Jersey Village, etc., Texas. This means we have full and busy lives (with severe weather interrupting everything for a few days every couple of years). For those of us who have kids, it means much time is spent shuttling them to their multiple activities during different times of the year — e.g., school sports teams, private music lessons, youth groups from churches, temples, and mosques, 2nd language classes, soccer and flag football in the Greater Cypress Sports League, etc.
It is for this reason that we practice and train our Korean Marital Arts in a way that is physically and financially sustainable over the long run. Life has seasons, and our leadership and community work to help each of us not only survive but thrive through ups and downs. Becoming a martial artist is a lifelong journey requiring discipline and consistency; at KMA Taekwondo Hapkido, we just agree with the late Bruce Lee when he said, “Be water, my friend.” We keep the essence of our Korean Martial Arts and adjust its shape and application to life here today.
